🧊 Success story

Real-time operational monitoring platform for advanced port management

CCT, one of the most strategic port terminals in the Caribbean and a key part of the logistics hub of the Panama Canal, required a digital solution to monitor, analyze and make operational decisions based on real-time data.

Challenge

Despite having internal systems for managing berths, yards, inventory and vessel traffic, the information was fragmented between platforms and manual processes, which made it difficult:

  • Centralized visibility of operation status
  • Effective coordination between the different operational areas
  • Rapid decision making in the face of changes in port scheduling
  • Efficient generation of executive and historical reports

CCT needed a technological solution that would unify its critical data in a visual, dynamic, reliable and easily accessible environment for the entire operational and administrative team.

The Solution

NERV Corp developed a customized platform based on interactive dashboards and connected to real-time data sources, designed to clearly and accessibly reflect all key aspects of port operations.

The solution was designed in conjunction with CCT's operations, planning and IT teams, and comprises the following modules:

  • Operation BerthReal-time status of berths, arrival and departure times, dock planning and space allocation.
  • Container Operation InformationContainer movement data, cargo volume, transshipment and operational efficiency per shift.
  • Inventory YardOccupancy levels, capacity utilization, container rotation by zone and historical traceability.
  • Ship Agency ListRegistration and control of shipping agencies, vessel scheduling and operational allocation.
  • Vessel Information SummaryConsolidated information on berthed and scheduled vessels, including type, flag, and planned operations.

Each module features graphical visualizations, key metrics, dynamic filters, and alerts to facilitate informed decision making and anticipate bottlenecks.

Results Achieved

The implementation of the platform enabled CCT to achieve high-impact operational and strategic benefits:

  • Total and unified visibility of port operations on a single screen
  • Reduction of coordination and response times in berthing planning
  • Reduced use of spreadsheets and manual reports
  • Ability to anticipate operational deviations through real-time alerts
  • Ability to generate executive and historical reports for strategic decision making
  • Increased integration and alignment between operations, logistics, agencies and administration areas
